Lapidary Service Information
**NEW RATE *Minimum service fee of $20 per hour.
* I do not calibrate cabochons, only freeform cutting here folks.

Slabing fee:
$1.50 for the frist square inch
$.50 per square inch there after.
*I do have a size limit for all slabing,
please inquire.

Cabochon fee:
My standard rate is $20 per hour for cabochon cutting.
*single side polished, for single side dome. regardless of shape. Sizes larger than 2inches will inquire a larger fee which is determined after cab is cut.
*extra possible fees;
Dual face side polished, $2.00 per cab.
Double Dome Cabochon, $2.00 per cab

Opal Doublets:
$5.00 per cab on top of the hourly rate.
Because i will not know the grade of the opal your sending, more work can be put into cutting opal doublets. And in most cases i will have to stabilize the opal. I use Basonite for the back material which i can supply. But if you have another type you rather use, let me know.

Soft Stones:
There are many soft stone on the market that require extra handling in order to properly cut and polish. A few example would be Opals, Turquoise, Tiffany Stone, Alunite, and Copper Ore Silicates. These are just a few examples so email me if you not sure about your material.

 Normally the extra handling consists again of stabilizing the stone.
So the fee is only
$5 per cab on top the hourly rate



*Turnaround time
consist normally of 2 weeks, or 10 working days, (Mon-Fri) per order. If you need the full service, starting with slabing and cabbing. The order could take 1 month to finish. All depending on stone type and size of order mainly.

*NO Rush orders *as i am not a mass production lapidary provider.

*Please note though I have cut thousands of pounds of rough and ten times that in cabochons. certain rough and experience can always be questioned. I am not liable for any broken pieces, before or after they are finished. I always strive to provide the best quality in service but rocks are rocks. If you are not sure what you have in the way of rough, or not sure I what you want. The higher the chance of getting something you don’t want, or having problems with the order in general. I am not responsible for poor rough, which will only result in poor service. please ask all and any questions you have, as I will not except rough I am unsure of. I will simply send it back if its a poor quality.
